Tried search no good, put on guns general, said try here, so he we go.
Posted about good scope's, got good replies. Checked them all out, but the one no one's talked about ZIESS, it was super nice, and really clear. The Rapid Z reticle was awesome, and it stayed focused nicely through all power levels. Ziess did manage to answer me about turrets on RZ scope ( that's a NO ). I really like to be able to use hold over for most everything, but having two loads for 308, this get's a little tricky, hence the dials. So why no talking about ZIESS scopes ? |

I have recommended Zeiss on here as well as most people I talk to.I love the little entry level Conquest 3-9.I own 3 of them.I use the standard reticle models for light hunting guns. That scope is light and the quality of class is comparable or better than VX 3,well you know the brand.I can not speak of Zeiss customer service.Close to 8 years and have not had a problem yet.
I will not sell my higher end Burris,Nikon or Leupolds to buy them, but if I was buying for a additional gun,I would not hesitate. |

Yeah I really like the Zeiss, other's have said Vortex PST but upon examination of the glass, it was some what blurred compared to Ziess. Although the Vortex 2.5-10x32 FFP was just as clear as Ziess I looked at...

Low end zeiss is still nice stuff... (conquest) but it doesnt have the features people are looking for now.
In that same ballpark price range, there are other brands with more features. Looking at their high lines, like Diavori, they're REALLY NICE... but in that price range, you have some very strong competition from several brands. |

I have had two 3-9 x 40 Conquest scopes, and love them. They are a little better optically than VX-3's, but a little longer and heavier. The duplex reticle (Z plex) is slightly heavier than the Leupold. Haven't tried the Rapid Z yet.

I have a 6.5X20X50 with the Rapid Z 1000 reticle on my Remy 700 that I really like. The glass is crystal clear and the holdover points really do work, but I have only shot out to 800 yards. The 100 yard hash is useless as I ran out of elevation with the Leupold base and rings so I switched them out with a EGW base and Burris rings and they brought it closer.
I don't like that you have to have the magnification at a specific power according to the calculator. This is a fun bench gun, I do not reload and consider myself a rookie btw. Would I buy the same scope again, yes, but with a different reticle. |
