Default Laser vs sights

I have a viridian green laser on my Glock 19. One of my friends said this was a 'crutch' and I should still practice aiming without the laser, using the sights on the gun. I was wondering what others thought of using laser vs sights?
Thanks.

Practice both
Laser is wayy faster at low light.
But never forget your irons on any weapon system.

Lasers can fail, Irons have less chance to. This is why many military rifles not only have optics, but back up iron sights (BUIS).

Practice the irons, you may need it.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst. Use your sights and practice with them much more than your laser. Batteries die, mounts come loose, electronics fail, etc. Your sights WILL be there when you need it. I have a TLR-2 on a XD of mine, love it for its purpose. For me, the laser is when I cannot use my sights due to condition or position. Practice with BOTH, but do put priority on your irons.

I put the viridian on my daughter's m&p 22 pistol. First 50 rounds at the range haveto be without laser then it's her choice.

She actually only shoots 20-30 rounds with laser then chooses to go iron.

If you can't hit your target without the laser, you shouldn't be using the weapon.

ALL electronics can and will fail at some point.

practice sights since fundamental basics are important and use the laser as a backup, laser has fast target acquisiton but if it ever failed, you already know how to use sights
