Default Found my holy grail of handguns

(More pics in Post 11)

I just DROSed my holy grail pistol. A Glock 17 Gen 1 with original Tupperware. The original tag with serial number is still on it (barely, but its there).
I have been looking for one for a while locally and finally found one at my LGS. Once I bring it home I will post some more pics of it. I am a fan of Glocks in general, but this is the first semi auto I ever shot and which got me into shooting in general. If only my father hadn't pawned his, I would own that one.

African or European? I am assuming since it's an Austrian gun, European?

Either way I wouldn't know

Sweet. My first Glock (way back when) was a Gen 1. Of course, that was when Gen 1's were new! Many years later, I scored a really clean '85 vintage Gen 1. Good news: never been sent in for the internal parts upgrade. Bed news: no box and the original sights had been replaced. Oh, well.

Good catch.

Some more pics, has some finish wear marks. From what I understand Some Gen1s came with the adjustable rear sights, but Glock ended up going to standard sights due to the adjustable sights breaking.

Shoot, I'd keep the adjustable. For me personally, I love being able to adjust my groups where I want them instead of having to use holdovers and other methods when possible. My favorite sights are either Bo-Mar, or my Colt Python sights.

I miss my Gen1 G17. It kaboomed a couple of years back, and Glock replaced the frame free of charge with a Gen3. I much prefer the Gen1.

Mine had adjustable sights on it, and was 1986 production.
