Default Delta ring on barrel but that is threaded for free float

When I bought my upper I came with a free float rifle length quad rail and it is ridiculously heavy and I was thinking about swaping out to a magpul rifle length hand guard, but wasn't sure if the barrel nut needs to be changed, thank you

If you need pictures let me know

Depends on what barrel nut you have on there now. If its a standard ar barrel nut, just add a delta pack/snap ring and a cap up front and you're good.

Yeah pics would help

It'll be helpful if you post a pic so we can see what type of barrel nut and rail you're referring to. You may need a delta ring assembly and hand-guard cap as was suggested.

That is a yhm clone handguard.
you will need to change it out to a standard barrel nut to be able to install a delta ring, wave spring and clip as well as a handguard cap behind your gas block.
Then you can install magpul handguards.
I can help you with this job if you need help.

I'm guessing you'll need a mil spec barrel nut assembly and handguard cap (triangle for rifle length?? Not sure). I've never handled that rail but I'm pretty sure there isn't a standard barrell nut under there.

USPS, UPS and FedEx are all in the business of moving packages for people that can not deliver or pick up things themselves...
