Damn, that's pure luck. I lost a motorcycle wheel spacer in my garage with all the doors closed and never found it.

Funny related story. Last week I lost the detent for the front take down pin in my garage. While crawling on the floor and using every curse word I could conjure I just happened to find another pin (for God knows what) that happened to be the exact diameter as the detent pin. A couple mins later on the dremmel and I was GTG

It's a 1/8" "low clearance" C clip.
Not very common in typical hardware stores.
There is not enough room for an E Clip in there.

Thanks Randall.
I may just keep an eye out at the store so I dont give myself an excuse to mail-order some and "accidentally" order other stuff to make the shipping worth it

I bought a box of low clearance 1/8" c clips that I use for putting floating pilots on 17 caliber and 20 caliber reamers.
They are the same clips as used on AR ejection port cover pivot pins.
The difference is that the ones sold for guns are parkerized (black) while the ones sold as fasteners are cad plated (gold in color).
my guess is that the likelihood of actually finding black ones at a non-gun hardware supplier is quite low...

Try a black Sharpie, they work wonders.

I had a hard to find small hardware item that I needed for my ammo safe. Usually Orchard Supply and Hardware has all the small stuff. I tried them, Home Depot and Lowes, no luck. I needed a key made and stopped at an old ACE Hardware since it was convenient. I saw that they had a large section of small hardware items. Sure enough they had it.

Orchard used to be good for the small stuff. Then Sears bought them. ALL of that disappeared from the stores, and now it's about as bad as a Big Box...

I just took a look at the newest Shotgun news. they usually have an ad in the back from Amherst-depot.com. They have a list of AR parts and parts for other USGI guns. I buy my stripper clips from them. They list "Ejection port Cover"- Cover "C" Clip w/pin & spring $5.00.

I have 8 black clips extra because PSA left 1 out of my upper parts kit and I asked them to send me 1.

Send me a PM and I will mail you one.

As long as you have a nice set of gold teeth to match it then it shouldn't be a problem!!!

Oh nevermind. I thought you would understand it. It is actually a quote from your homeboy to you in a different thread.

Harbor Freight has an assorted plastic box of e-clips. Haven't looked to see if there was anything that small. Just a suggestion.
