Default My First AR-15 Build (also a panic one)

Started building it just after the new year, finished at the end of last month, finally got around to taking & posting pictures. Haven’t shot it yet, and probably won’t for a few more weeks (I know, crazy ). I wanted my first AR to be a decent KISS but not bottom of the barrel. No tactical or CQB courses for me, just desert/range shooting. My Mini-14’s accuracy out of the box left much to be desired so I’m hoping to get decent groups. Anyway, here’s the goodies:

-Mega forged lower
-PSA parts kit
-MOE stock, trigger guard, grip
-PSA middy upper, 16” hammer forged barrel, MI SS12G2 rail
-Gunfighter Mod4 charging handle
-WMD NiB bolt carrier group
-Troy battlesights – fixed front and rear
-Raddlock

Anyways, good luck to all building something, seems like things have been turning around.

Happy shooting

Thanks for looking, hoping to shoot this upcoming holiday weekend. Only have 55gr ammo so far, was hoping to get a few heavier rounds to see what it likes best to eat.

Nice AR! I finished completing one a month and a half ago although its not where i want it to be at. I still want a different stock, rail, vertical grip, and optic.

I traded a guitar valued at 400 for the lower (then added the magpul pistol grip and trigger guard), I bought the bcm midlength upper that came with a vltor gunfighter charging handle for $470, a cmt/stag bgc for $210, and my friend gave me his old gi handguards.

i feel kinda dumb for having over $1100 in this rifle when it is kinda bare bones but atleast its parts are decent and i got the lower for a good deal.

I may just go the cheap route and put a magpul stock on it, magpul moe handguard, and a bushnell trs-25 red dot on it. That should be around $200 if i shop for good deals.

Total $1340
Add another $50-$75 for shipping, tax, DROS. I could have shaved $300-$400 going with more basic parts.

Haven't shot with it, but it has a nice feel to it. Came with 3 detachable rail sections which is nice if I want to add any "junk" to it.

I hope you have a spare guitar! Ya I know the feeling, especially since complete M&P sports are coming back for under $900, but it was fun to build.
