Default 1911 - Wilson ETM mag question

Just saw this on my etm. Not sure if this is normal feature to help loading or a dent on the lip. I know my regular 47d's don't have it...had it with me at the range last night and it functioned perfectly...

Is it on both sides? If it's a feature it should be.

No just one side. Mag catch is only on 1 side...the side with the "dent"

I think it's to help when you slam a new mag in to prevent it from getting stuck on the mag release....?
