I called to see if they recieved my application. The lady told me it would be impossible. They're getting 1000 apps a day is what she told me. Seems like they're very very busy there. Lol .. I guess I'll know in two months. Wish there was a way to check on it periodically.

Pretty sure you need to refresh your intel...Nevada dropped recip. with AZ and there is whispers the other states are going to also. Getting every LTC you can would be advantageous.

FL does not honor out of state non resident licenses.

Pulled from http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/new...led_carry.html

Utah submitted 2/11
Fla submitted 2/14
Az submitted 3/1

called Fla today and automated voice said "My License has been Issued, Printed and Mailed allow 2 weeks for delivery".... ironic as I thought FLA was having the greatest backlog.

Called today and spoke with a nice lady. She said mine was 'keyed' (recieved) February 8 and I am still pending one background check and it could be a week or two more. I'm in no hurry. Summer time is when I visit AZ the most. She said there is not back up on my case, just a background.

Might be my military history or my residence oversees or back east..... Not sure. But, didnt sound like a problem.

So.. this thread has become too long to read :P so excuse me if this is repetitive.

But what is the advantage in obtaining a AZ LTC? AZ looks as though it still recognizes FL and UT LTC.

My original desire for the AZ LTC was that it reciprocated with NV, for visits to Las Vegas or Reno. Now that the reciprocity has been removed, I figure now the top non-Cali LTC's would be:
FL: to get WA & NM reciprocity, to get LTC permission in all of the southern border states
UT: to get PA and MN (just to get additional reciprocity)
NV: mainly for LV and Reno visits

Or if you don't care about PA, you could just do with FL and NV LTC's
Reciprocity referenced from: http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_ca...city_maps.html

I guess I'm driving into a whole different thread, but wondering why others feel AZ LTC is still worthwhile? I do like their LTC permit though. I wish California's LTC was on a hard card :\

When I prepared my AZ application, NV still honored AZ.

Update- I mailed off AZ and Utah on 2/22

I just spoke with Utah- they received on 2/25, final processing will be completed by 4/25, I should expect to receive my permit in the mail by 5/6

No word from AZ, they told me they are "too backed up" to give estimated timelines

Dave's posting gave me hope- I just called AZ again...

They received my application on 2/25, but did not enter my app into the system until 4/11 I am in background check status now

Called Utah today and was told to allow 60 days from date of check cashed and 10 more for postal. It took them almost 1 month to cash my check......

And called AZ and was told they are working on applications received on 3/4 now

Question....has anyone had to go to NV or AZ to do a class or is your CA CCW proof enough? Or a copy of your CCW class completion? It's all a little confusing on this non resident stuff. Can you do it all through the mail? I doubt I will travel there prior to being able to carry there, as I'd be alone and thus the reason to want the CCW to start with.

If you have a Cal. CCW a copy is good for Az, I used my DD214 and that worked for my Az CCW.

Your CCW for CA is acceptable for AZ. For NV you have to take a their class & qualify and turn in your application at the Sheriff's offcie in the county where the class was taken.

FYI.
As of 05-01-2013, WA no longer has reciprocity or honors the FL CCW permit.

Based on Rocketrob it seems like AZ is taking around 9 weeks. So I should be getting mine in about 2 weeks.
