It has been more than 4 weeks since my initial interview with no response. Should I email Amber or be patient?

Had my initial interview at the beginning of April, sent an email to Amber and she advised they hold the applications for 30 days before sending out the approval/denials. I'd give it another 2 weeks

I had my initial interview on 4/4/13 and I contacted Amber yesterday and received the same response. I just wonder why I see others being informed informed within weeks of their interview. Oh well I've waited this long whats another 2 weeks.

Name, Rank, and Serial Number

Relax. Get your application filled out and be prepared for a good chat. The interviewing deputies will be getting a feel of your character as well as review your records (if any).

Don't forget change for the parking meter and a cashier's check payable to Sac County.

When I had my first interview, the deputy asked me all of the questions on the packet, and asked me multiple times if I had ever done drugs. Took less than 10 minutes for both interviews.

On the 13th will be 60 days since initial interveiw still nothing yet, talked to amber two weeks ago and she said they where waiting for paper work from other agency and would take up to 8 weeks to make a decision. Has anyone here had to wait 60 days or more just to get denied or approved?

Yes. I waited 2 months and in those 2 months I emailed her twice. First time was a month after initial interview, second one was 2 months after initial interview. I almost immediately got my approval letter after the second email.

Submitted my finger printing on 4/16 in person. After ANOTHER long wait, I finally got my finger prints cleared and my final appointment is on the 5/29. I was hoping a final appointment would open up before the 29th.

You know.... I think that they may be doing the approvals in batches.. they used to, or at least used to do the approval committee every two weeks, this means if your appt was on thursday and the meeting was the following Friday there was a chance you would get an approval that following week... it was awesome unless your appt was the day after the meeting then it would take two weeks..

this may explain the different time frames

My complete timeline.

8-Feb-13 Scheduled initial appointment
13-Feb-13 Initial appointment
1-Mar-13 Email instructions to livescan
4-Mar-13 Livescan appointment
23-24 Mar-13 16hr CCW Class
28-Mar-13 Livescan cleared letter
1-Apr-13 Scheduled issuance appointment
7-May-13 Issuance appointment
9-May-13 Permit received

Would have been faster if I could have got an issuance appointment in April.

Final appointment (issuing) was on the 21st, and I got the "we missed you" card in the mail yesterday... No one at home heard the knock, so I had to wait till this morning to get it! But it's here!!!

Question. Who are you guys emailing to check on the status of your initial interview? Mine was 4-10-13, just wondering how much longer it might be?

Thanks!

I heard that they are now allowing more than three guns on the permit? Anyone know if this is true?

Just walked out of the Sheriff's office for my final appointment. After over a year and a half I finally have my CCW in hand. As of 4 days ago they will fingerprint you and laminate your CCW right there and hand it to you! NO MORE WAITING FOR IT IN THE MAIL!!! That being said I'm happy it's done and over with...well at least for 2 years right!
