Move them out of state, blah, blah, blah, and wait for the courts to deal with it. I can shoot my old tech guns in the meantime. If the world is gonna end, I can always go get them or have them brought to me.

this thread will probably be closed in a few minutes!

Many of the guns that would be affected could be modified to comply. that would be my first course of action and if it wasn't possible I'd probably just sell them.

Disassemble 10 round mags and buy 5 round mags for 10/22.

Take out gas tube, add standard mag release and build up a side charge upper for "modern sporting rifle".

The funny thing is my "go to" rifle for what do I shoot best is my K31, 5 shot mag, quick reload with stripper clips and straight pull bolt.

Show up at the range and practice my rapid fire as often as possible with 10 round mags and direct pull bolt.

I'm pushing for 1/4 Miculek speed on my 6 shot 45 acp revolver so I can shoot 60 rpm

doesn't matter. semi-auto with detachable mags. period. unless you block and permanently affix the mag but then how are you going to load it. and the marlin 60, you'd have to cut the tube.

blow back actions, unless some gunsmith would know how to, can't be rendered non-semi. gas operated autos can have a gas port block sealed as the bolt locks into the breech. but there's no bolt lugs on a 10/22 that lock it into the barrel. you'd need to do major mods to the internals of the 10/22 to make it a "bolt" 22.

Getting the state officials to organize anything, like confiscating .22 rifles, will be like a monkey f***ing a football.

I'll wait and discuss it with whoever shows up at my door.

If you are not yet an NRA member, then join. Then contribute as much $$ as you can afford to their Legal fund. The NRA will fight these laws (if they become law) all the way to the SCOTUS. The NRA knows that if these new proposed laws are passed that other states will follow CA's example.

Many good points made here and a worthwhile discussion but our words are not gonna stop these new laws if they are passed, only our $$$.

I dont think you would encounter LEO out in the field. My firearms go from the house to the range. Also I have been vocal locally about the whole gun issue. For everyone of us that comes to the site and knows the politcs that is going on there is at least 5 other that own guns and have no clue that they have a potential AW. You cant arrest everyone.

What good are firearms if you have to bury/hide/disassemble/ship out of state ? When they( the rest of the states) figure out that they can take them
there won't be anywhere to go.

And waiting for SCOTUS to accept a case and rule in our favor ( which if any of the Heller 5 goes), it will be a long time to have them every see the light of day again. I can say it won't be " in two weeks".

And I have been looking for anytime that the NRA has ever done anything for
us in CA and haven't found anything ( not saying they haven't just can find anything ). So waiting for them could take just as long if not longer.

Me , I'll do what I need to do when the time comes for me and mine, until then I hope for the best.

Been laughing at the thought of a Remington Viper as an AW , now thats funny.

depending on what laws get past, you might be required to. if you do not, then you will always have a potential felony hanging over your head.

In a perfect world every one of the things I do would be perfectly legal. I've grown accustomed to living in an imperfect world. Unfortunately the poll has no applicable options so I can't participate.
