Ask for the veto, people. Be respectful, not demanding.

I doubt we'll get this one, but if we start to increase the volume now on Gov Brown, when the even-more-painful bills come to his desk, perhaps we'll be able to wring a critical veto or two out of him.

Just sent

Please VETO this.
This bill reaches into the pockets of law abiding firearms owners and takes money that they paid for DROS, and uses it for something it was never meant to be used for.
If the money we have been paying in order to adminster the transfer of firearms is more than it costs to administer the transfer of firearms, then the fee charged to COVER THE COSTS should be reduced. It should not be looked at as an additional revenue stream for Governmental "Pet Projects".

Yes, of course you are right, but is that to say there shouldn't be any such label as "prohibited" regarding firearms possession?

I am fine with the current laws on prohibited persons. What I have an issue with is the gov going thru medical records of gun owners and prohibiting people who have been prescribed an anxiety, depression, or any other type of medication. I am all for disarming criminals.

First of all I am all for the disarming of felons and the legally insane.

Second of all I am a little suspicious about how that this bill may be used once people are accustomed to having DOJ officers out on the streets confiscating law abiding citizens' firearms. Seems eventually it will end up broadening and reaching for more and more reasons to go to homes and take their fire arms.

Lets say a man has lost his wife or a child in a tragic accident like a drunk driver or some random event. He goes to the doctor and says Doc i am just too upset. I cant eat and I cant sleep. So the doctor prescribes him some form of anti depressant and a kind of sleep med. He also refers him to see a therapist for further evaluation. With out ever committing a crime or being legally proven as insane, That man has not only lost a loved one but he then loses his 2nd amendment right that should not ever be infringed upon. One week later the DOJ is at his door dressed out in SWAT gear raiding his place for his legally bought firearms. Again, all the while he was never told by any judge he lost his right to bare arms and he had never committed any crime.

Not exactly what we should be allowing our public servants to pass into our legislation. And to think it would never get to that point is either naive or foolhardy.

Yeap. They can and will expand this to include anyone who has visited a mental health professional. Then it will be other things like DUI's, ect. Get ready for a
real arse whooping CA. You had best leave your state now or risk a felony conviction.

The DOJ agents conducting these confiscations are basically showing up and sweet talking prohibited persons out of their firearms . They are generally not showing up with arrest warrants . Once words get out among the prohibited persons I don't see doj grabbing many guns .

Do not let any agency or agent of the Govt inside your home without a warrant.

You betcha they will. They are on a fast track to disarm as many people
as they can. One R/O or visit to a psychiatrist and it will be your door they
are knocking down next. Once that expand the PP List lots of CA gun owners
will be getting the knock in the middle of the night to turn over your guns.

wasnt the point of them doing it this way that they couldnt get warrants for the most part? Especially in the cases where some have been visited because they live with a prohibited person I cant see that getting a warrant. "Judge sir we think they live with a prohibited person and we assume that the prohibited person could maybe have access". In the cases where theyre investigating a FIP it would probably be easier.
