My Big 5 has a 1942 Izhevsk.

I know the manager and we were talking about them. He said that they are starting to trickle back in, but they are not allowed to sell them at sales price. So $179.99 the will stay for the present.

Never saw the attraction. I've seen a couple of guys dressed up in WWII gear walking around the Costa Mesa gun show.

Sad if they stop getting them
I snorted 75 rounds worth of Nagant on Saturday March 30th. Good stuff.
After effects were the usual - a sore shoulder and a big s**t eating grin.

i found out that it does not matter what powerful rifle i shoot at the range. my mosin shooting .18c ammo was just as much fun [ maybe more] than shooting 308 in my M1A. now the M1A was a huge EGO boost for sure. i do try to enjoy what i shoot and not care about the bling somebody else is shooting. sold the M1A. somebody offered me 800 more for the M1A than i paid for it 5 months ago. My local big 5s are all out. I was there for something else and just looked out of curiosity. The 179.99 seems to be the new price.

btw...if anyone is looking for a mosin PM me. I am selling a few to raise cash for another gun.

Default rassure big 5 mosins

I spoke to a manager at big 5 yesterday and was assured that they will have more mosins again at some point. How long will they last is another question. Ive heard of alot of rumors even directly from big 5 clerks that they will no longer have them. The manager at the big 5 in San Pedro yesterday said that is a false statement. Im gonna start saving money just incase they are in stock and on sale at big 5 on black friday.

I wanted to get a few more before 2014 but I guess other routes have to be arranged.
Big 5 is opening a Store in South Tahoe soon, wonder what they'll have. We only have one small gun store in town, about the size of a large bedroom, and one FFL that works from home. Gonna be interesting to see what showsup.

Here's my story.
March 13th I went to the Santa Rosa Big 5 & asked if they had any MNs. The answer was "No," but they took down my name & said I was first on the list for one.
March 25, they called & said they had one. I did some research & found the black Friday sales price.
March 27th, I went in to have a look. They quoted the price of $179. I asked if they'd take sales price. The girl that seemed to be in charge there said "Sure. He's been waiting for it for a while." She wrote out a tag that says I came in last December! Bought it for $120 + $25 fee + tax.

Don't count on this happening too often, but that clerk gets a + mark in my book.

Got it. Cleaned with boiling water and a hot car. Oiled. Reassembled. Not bad for a '43 Izhevsk 91/30. Can't wait to try it out!

Default M44 Polish

I have a 1955 Polish M44 I would like to sell. It's new unfired. I bought it many years ago and it's been sitting in the safe. I bought it when I lived in another state through a FFL dealer using form 4473. How do I sell it in CA? Is it a fire arm or a C&R? I know nothing about C&R dealer, transaction and what is involved. Can I just sell it face to face without a dealer involved?

Thanks [IMG]

do not sell that rifle for less than 500 bucks, no mater what people here say that is a 500 dollar M-44. the retail price on nice mosins has shot up. beaters are still out their cheep.

Wow.... A $500 mosin! So much for them being cheap to collect. I'm not saying that gun isn't worth $500 because I have no idea on its worth, but at $500 It's almost in the park of an m1

I thought the same thing, but the thread is about Big 5 Mosins, not a brand new one. Exiled just quoted a price and/about Big 5 having them.

Yes.

That's a nice one, I'd say no less than $400 is what I'd ask.

I know! I could never bring myself to shoot it since it's so nice. I have just kept it in the safe for 20 years. I'm going to list it for sale. They really are binging $400 to $500 in new unfired condition. They started making the Polish rifles in 1951. I think I paid $159 plus shipping for it in 1992. It has a CDI import stamp on it.
