Congratulations! Getting the appt is the first and hardest step to start the CCW process. To answer your question- A 'letter of statement' or 'good cause' is just a letter written to the sheriff explaining your need for a CCW. In Sac County we're lucky as it's as simple as writing "for self defense and the protection of my family."

You will need your: application, money order, and 2 proofs of residence. Also be sure you memorize your DL number. They will hold it at the front desk and you'll need it for some paperwork during the interview. All the advice I have for you is to be honest and patient! The CCW process isn't aa quick as it should be. Good luck!

No problem. If you check the Sac County Individual Updates thread, there is discussion on the good cause statement. Check it out

you can just write it out. a lot of people actually forget their statement and when the deputies at the security desk ask if you have it, will give people a piece of paper to write one out.

Indeed, thats defitanly a 7-level task and will probably need a certifier too.

Thats your good cause statement. I put something along the lines of " I wish to obtain a ccw for self defense" date it, type name, printed it out and sign it. Also bring your check and two proofs of residency. Car registration doesnt work. DROS forms, credit card statements, bills, etc will work. I also brought letters of recommendation but they said they dont use them but it couldnt hurt. Of course also bring your application. Be 100% honest about everything even if it doesnt look good. I do not have a squeeky clean background and have a few tickets and still got approved. But if you lie about anything or forget to put a ticket on there you will get disqualified and it will ruin your chances of ever having a ccw in this state.
