Default Why isnt there a 3 gun format for .22LR's in LA/Ventura?

i think this would be a cool idea if we can get something started in Los Angeles/Ventura.

ive never done anything like it or know how it works but it sounds fun

Dude, if the super majority get their way, we'll all be shooting .22s.

Thought they used to run a 22LR action rifle match at Prado. Don't know if they still do though.

It sounds like it would be fun, but isnt the third gun a shot gun?
I really don't know, not trying to be a wisen-himer

Also, you can shoot your .22s at the Norco steel match (i.e. steel madness). Very similar to 3-gun and really fun too!

Maybe a pump or a lever .22? Or dual wield .22 pistols? Bolt action? SMG clone (mp5)? hahaha

we can make it up.

^ Sounds like it's time for a .22 rifle to Rem 870 conversion kit.
Could use snakeshot for the ammo.
Off to the garage with you!

We had one
Most used a Ruger or Buckmark for pistol, 10/22 or AR conversion for rifle, and a Mossberg or Remington .410 for shotgun. It was a lot of fun, except for trying to speed load a rimfire pistol...bullets all over the place

We set it up like a regular 3 gun shoot, except for smaller targets for rifle, so they would fall. Our club's director suggested doing it, since a lot of our new shooters have the pistol and rifle to participate. I supplied the .410 and ammunition. It was run by the Motherload Pistol Club in Mariposa. It's a private range that's open to the public..does that make sense?

so.... lets set something up if we can.....burro canyon private range anyone? I say we have clay birds as targets, close range for pisto & long range for rifle (depending what place we can get) and maybe some 410 or 20 ga for the shotgun, i think the shotgun stage can be open to any gauge i'll stick with my 12 ga it just feels right

Me and my son ran a couple of Tac matches here in NorCal. The furthest steel target was @ 75 yards and was kind of hard to hear and everyone said it sounded like we where shooting suppressed LOL. I've also ran a couple of local carbine classes using .22LR. At the time I was supporting 3 shooters so instead of shooting 350.00 in 5.56 it only cost 50.00. Although .22LR is better than nothing center fire is 10x funner.

hahaha...funny I stumbled onto this thread. I'm actually talking to Penny's Dad (Jacob) and we are looking into the possibility of setting up a rimfire match.

Stay tuned....

I had this same idea and was talking with a co-worker about it.

.22 Tacticool 3 gun.

I think the third gun should be ANY caliber shotgun, so people can use the 12 and 20 gauges they already have and not have to buy a special .410 for the shoot,(and feed it EXPENSIVE .410 ammo)... kinda stick with the low price theme.

I guess it wouldn't be too hard to organize, everyone could pitch in so we could afford a good range safety officer. And I would want the rules to be written so that it reflects defensive shooting (5 seconds added to your time for misses, 5 seconds added to your time for reloading in the open, etc...) so it doesn't become a spray and pray shoot like 3 gun and ipsc

I HAVE to have a rimfire match SOON! I was disappointed to read on the Norco Running Gun site that they only accept 9mm and up. I really want to run my SR22 in a match.

Plenty of Rimfire shooters for the SSA events on the First and Third Sundays at the same range.

They don't always update the scores on time.

I like the idea of rimfire matches like this. especially with reactive targets. punching paper is all fine and dandy, but shooting metal and getting a reaction, that's what it's all about.

especially for the younger shooters. my son would totally love to shoot a match like that
