I want to go and I totally understand and agree why there's a strict no alcohol at the firing line, but what kind of BBQ doesnt allow beer???

Is the BBQ @ the firing line?

Thank you for the update Mr. Full Clip.

Disturbing news indeed, I can't believe the people has no respect for our common property.

We need to plan a massive clean up before/during and after our shooting event.

I'm game.

I'd love to go to this but my car is less than 4 inches of ground clearance. I couldn't drive the trail. Feels bad man.

We are getting close to our event and at this point I would like to bring this thread into a fast track mode.

I've received numerous PMs, emails and phone calls from fellow members volunteering their time, skills, equipment, food and what not to our massive annual event, the interest and response are overwhelming, thank you so much.

Last year our firing line was more than 200 yds. long, 65 canopies and more than 200 shooters strong, congregating members from all over the state and fellow brothers from NV, AZ and TX; Big bores were present along with belt feds and all kind of different gun platforms, of course,..... the line was open day and night during the weekend.

As stated before this is a 100% Family oriented event, I love to see our fellow members, families and friends get together, have fun, make new friends and specially, enjoy our land and freedom in a safe and responsible environment.

Our event is open and welcomes every single law abiding citizen, LEO and Military members in our state.

This year CGSSA.org directors, CGN C3 leadears, coordinators, specialists and members along with Calguns.net moderators will be there for all of us in a combine effort to have a great event.

That being said and since we are a big family I would like to ask for volunteers/commitment in the follow:

Safety.

This year, our fellow CGSSA director Mr. Sean Casey will be our Master Range Officer assisted by our beloved moderator "retired".

Are you a LEO, Military (active or ret.)? Do you have experience as a RSO? would you like to volunteer?, please post your interest in the thread or send me a private PM.

Emergency.

Are you a Doc., Med., EMT??

Do you have First aid skills, equipment, vehicles, etc. that you would like to volunteer?

Please post your interest to help in this thread.

Hardware.

Would you like to bring that CA legal item and let the family admire it and have some fun??

Communications.

We are going to need radios, cell phones with good reception, PA/bull horns, air horns, SAT,etc.

Would you like to bring and/or volunteer equipment?

Multi media/ Photography.

So far our C3 professionals and good friend "Yugo" have volunteered their equipment one more time for our event graphic report/coverage and mandatory Zombie movie ( the out door surround sound system and big.a..s screen are amazing...!!!!).

Do you have equipment and/or skills to volunteer?

Food and Pot luck.

Yes...!!!.

This is a family gathering.

Do you have a propane BBQ ( not charcoal)?, would you like to share some food with our great family??

Don't be shy and open your heart.

Night shoot.

Do you have generators, extension cords, flood light towers, lasers, fluorescent targets, pointers, etc?.

Off road vehicles.

Our targets goes as far as 600 yds, would you like to bring your toys and help the transportation a little bit?

Please check your tag's colors.

Campground and pit fires.

Are you planning to spend the weekend with us?

Please post if you are bringing a motor home, trailer, toy hauler, wagon, tent, etc., so we can organize the campground and overnight hang out.

Facilities.

Do you have portable facilities?, out house, tents, etc??

I know I'm missing quite a few things here so, help me out if you would.

Looking forward to another great event.

Respectfully.

Lonewolf.

I am so serious about the refried beans. I make my own. I can do one aluminum tray of beans plain and the other with slices of jalapeno and bacon bits.

Registered Nurse here with trauma ER, surgical OR, procedural Cath lab experience.

BLS CPR plus a half dozen other certs if it matters LOL.

I'll see if I can scrounge together some I.V. start kits and see if I still have an intact emergency kit. I also have an AED if I could find it LOL. If I can get things together I can volunteer as a medical first aide booth.

I could bring a shovel for a toilet and a campers pop up toilet as well. I have a 4' x 4' carpet that I like to shoot prone off of but I imagine all the sweet spots will be spoken for by the wee morning hours on Saturday again.

But I will bring my trusty ol pop up again and sun screen, bottled drinking water for the event, some gatorade, cups, meat of some sort. And anything else I could donate to the BBQ end. Pop up chairs, card table, and various shooting miscelainee.

As far as hardware goes The his and hers 1911's are coming along and maybe the his and her ARs. If I have room I'll bring the .50DTC Windrunner and some ammo. Space is tight and it might be too tight if I bring out that dude LOL. So I'll see if I want to go through the headache of that logistical nightmare

Oh and I sure in the heck plan on cleaning up after ourselves LOL.

On a site note, I'm bringing a double cab tacoma, so if anyone needs a lift to the shoot from the meeting out by Barstow shoot me a PM and I will do my best to accommodate fellow gunners for a ride to and from.

There are trails all over the place to ride, some with great views of the range, line and one with great views of the valley on the other side of the Volcano.

Ask CSACanoneer about us loading his car, completely compressing the suspension then having to drive around a pickup truck who couldn't figure out the hill.

Is the shooting area located on one of the dirt roads out there? How far is the shooting area from the RV/Trailer campground area? Thanks!

Right next to it, camping area is just below the shooting area. There is a picture from the SBSD in the picture thread. If I find it I will post it here. you can see the firing line and too the left of it you will see a yellow tent, that was the camping area. Some even camped up at the firing line.

CSA's little car was loaded with so much gear that we had the suspension completely compressed down and we not only made it up the hill, we went off the trail to pass a truck that had troubles figuring out where to go. The camp area to the shooting line is much closer than this photo makes it look. No one has gotten stuck that I know of after 3 events.

Don't forget weights for your canopies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. I thought I remember reading somewhere that it was about 100 yards, if that's 100 yards, then calling NFL players, athletes is a stretch; at best.

Will someone already have a fire permit or do individuals need to get their own?

I asked a ranger about the size of our group and permits. He stated that if the fire is in close-ish proximity, they would be satisfied. You can get the fire permit online and I'd recommend doing so regardless of what I heard and relayed here to CYA. Permit info here

So you just print the permit out, fill it out and take with? Looks like it's already signed by the agency.

Not sure it's a good idea to have a dog on or near the firing line. But down where the RV's park, I don't see why not.

We should start a list of who's bringing what to for the potluck. That way we don't have 15 things of costco cookies and not enough burgers! Don't get me wrong, I love cookies..

Directions will be posted as the event gets closer.

I'm going to have to bow out on this one, as much as I was seriously looking forward to it. Might be getting a house and getting away from my roomates - Dumb and Dumber and need to save a little $$$. As much as I'm hard-core pro 2A, they shouldn't have access to guns.

New to this but I am definitely in. I am also a photographer and would be happy to take photos. I'll plan to arrive on Friday.

I guess my guest are bumming out on me, and I got more room for my guns and food for the pot luck,

I think Im going to bring some meats for grilling, <if someone does bring a grill>
If not, Can I do it over a campfire? caveman style ?

I might bring some costco pizzas too. No need to heat them up, I'l just let them sit in the back of the car in the heat to cook them again
