Hey Jerry I was wondering if we could get an updated order placement date? I think you mentioned that we may be waiting on a couple late payments, which is fine with me I want everyone to enjoy this opportunity you have provided, I am just curious if this will change the date the order will be placed?

Thank you

Bhands, I don't have a specific order date but those few late payments will NOT change when I will be placing the order as I don't have to pay the moment the order is placed anyway. The thing that screws up the order date is when people opt in to the group buy and then fail to communicate with me if they need to cancel their orders. I end up having to go through a process of PM's, posts, spread sheet and order form revisions etc etc in order to get everything straight. All this stuff adds time but that is to be expected with any group buy. I will update everyone as things happen but with nearly 10,000 PM's since late December it tends to take me a few days to get through each step/process. I'm always happy to answer questions so let me know if there's anything I can help with. Jerry

I could be wrong, but I believe that
A.) with a large enough order a lot of manufacturers will make small changes on request, especially if it is just omitting a marking step
and B.)I believe there is an inside connection to the factory involved in this buy....

Because the PM key word search feature is not working I can't search my inbox for actual names. If you send me a payment and don't include your user name I can't go and type your first name in that search box and find a PM you sent me to figure out who sent the PM as I normally would do. Since that is the case if you sent me a payment without your user name I'll have to post here in the thread asking you to PM me me to let me know who you are.

If your name is Harry and you sent a Money order for $355 please PM me.

If your name is Greg and you sent a Money order for $700 please PM me.

If your name is George and you sent a quick pay for $676 please PM me.

If your name is Robert S. and you sent a Money Order for $675 please PM me.

You are good Randy, I know it's in there waiting. I did as many as I could last night but there's still about 15 online payments waiting to be processed. I'll have everything processed and updated by tomorrow night at the latest.

I know this group buy is closed, but if anyone wants to opt out and let me in on a RIA 1911 parts kit (no KTO frame needed), please PM me.

To OP, if there's a chance to squeeze in a RIA 1911 parts kit, I'll pay you today.

Ive been lurking this thread for a bit and havent really been that interested in building my own because I intend on moving back to the free states soon but now Im getting worried about the up and coming legislation that the antis are trying to put through. If you have any extra kits or would potentially be willing to let me bring my own to make please pm me, I also have a ar-lower I want to finish but Im not sure if this is the right thread. PM me or ill try to follow this thread. Thanks

"The main spring housing is a one piece design and eliminates the grip safety, they don't offer the standard main spring housing that would work with a standard grip safety anymore so there is not an option for one."

So how does safety work then? Are there any vids of ones finished demo'ing how it operates?

i assume its a standard 1911 minus the safety... just like if your where to pin the back strap safety like a lot of USPSA and IPSC shooters do. the only safety that works now is your thumb safety... cocked, locked, ready to rock. am i correct??

When was it sent?

Update: I was hoping to get the final PO sent over to KTO tomorrow and mail payment by Saturday, I'll push it off until next week if I still have a lot of late payments that are confirmed but not received yet. I'll update everyone here once I get the final order placed and payment sent over to KTO.
EDIT: Too tired to build the PO right now, haven't been getting much sleep this week, I'm going to have to build the PO over the weekend and mail the payment next week...

Original design was without grip safety. Army made a request to add this detail to a design.

At least they didn't opt for an idiotic trigger safety where you have to press the trigger to make it fire!

Update: Ok guys, I've got the PO's built and I plan to have the payments mailed out to the vendors Monday morning so this is your last chance to review your order in post #2 and let me know if there's anything that needs to be changed.

"send it" said the spotter to the sniper. when are you expecting an ETA from KTO? towards the end of 3 months or they going to give you a date sooner?

I'm kicking myself for not getting in on this Group Buy. If anyone changed their mind and doesn't mind offering me up their spot, please PM me.

What kind of steel are the kto frames? Do they require finishing? Maintenance?

From their website "Steel: Burgon Tool Steel, Optiplate-XM The finest ground and stress relieved resulfurized plate in the world. Case hardenable material, Blanchard ground +.010"/.030" over nominal on thickness and width. www.Burgon.com"
Essentially it is just carbon steel with added sulfur to make machining easier. with that said, carbon steel rusts. it would be a good idea to blue or parkerize the frame after you're done. if not, then you can polish it up and keep it oiled to prevent rust

Does anyone plan on checkering/golfballing the front strap? What about custom engraving? Cerakoting? Bi-Tone?

What style? What LPI? Where?

I am in So Cal and would like to have mine Checkered at 25lpi. Maybe the trigger guard as well. I'd also like to have it cerakoted in some bi-tone configuration. Just some initial thoughts.

What are you're guys plans? Any ideas you'd like to share?
