Default Glock Extended Mag release

Was wondering if Aluminum mag releases are bad for Glock/Polymer mag bodies? Glockstore.com has two Extended mag release. 1 is polymer and the other is aluminum.

The aluminum ones are just the actual button screwed onto a polymer arm, so no metal contacting the magazines.

*edit*
My bad, I was assuming these
http://www.glockstore.com/extended-a...h-for-glocks-1

were the only ones, never saw these ones before:

The Vickers mag release is a happy medium between the extended and the factory.

Just use the OEM G21 mag release for $2. It sticks out about 1mm more than a standard on a G17/G22 frame.

That's what I'm using.

+1

I tried a large frame release (G21) on my G17 and found it sticks out too much. The Vickers is perfect.

I found that I personally dislike the extended Glock Magazine releases due to my "thumbs-forward" grip. My palm contacts the release and sometimes releases the magazine during firing causing a malfunction. Just my personal experience.

I remember reading a story about an Officer while drawing his Glock at a suspect, the magazine accidentally ejected because of the newly installed Extended Glock Mag release being depressed from his holster.

Since he couldn't work on his issued Glock. He had to use Tape for the rest of the day to hold the Magazine in place, until he could get to his Armorer to swap back to the original release.
