You don't think that everyone isn't aware of all of them?
I trust Gene, CGF et al, to know a hell of a lot more of what's going on in front of and behind the curtain more than this Squid guy does.
To say that Gene is doing this to drum up money??

THANK YOU Gene for your post.

A voice of calm sanity and factual reporting.

Well written Gene!

One addition - With a GOP controlled House and Harry Reid in the Senate, there is no way anything extreme will pass all three branches of the federal government.

A large amount of hand wringing and political posturing, for sure, but actual bills making it fully through? Not a chance.

Thanks again Gene.

What is you trust? What results have we gotten? Only results I see are more and more gun control being exerted. What has Calguns done other than take your donations and give you all false hope? Personally I think Calguns is the biggest scam of all. The real fight is going to come from the NRA front. Calguns is just a bunch of posers cashing in on all the fear mongering.

You're obviously blind to the fact and have no idea what you can have in CA because of CGF.

Do you own a Post-2000 ban AR, AK type with features? You can thank CGF.

Live in Sacramento County which is now Shall Issue? You can thank CGF.

Still mail ordering ammo with the failure of AB962 becoming law? Oh yeah, you can thank CGF in being part of that too.

The death of Yee's SB249? Yep....ding! Failed with the help and hard work of CGF.

Plus many more issues that CGF has done also to establish, protect and defend others in cases which affect everyone -

http://www.calgunsfoundation.org/abo...me-lately.html

The real question is, what have YOU done in leading to advance our 2A Civil Rights in CA?

**crickets**

But I'll bet you feel proud to take advantage of all these, while at the same time you bash those who have fought for you.

It is all good, and neither defeats the purpose.

I WOULD be much happier if the head of the NRA didn't sound like (and have a name like) a French ballroom dancer, and one of those TWO WEEK things worked out.

Why does this sound familiar.......

http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showp...5&postcount=40

Ah, the truth is out. Wild Squid, is this how you feel about the Calguns community supporting the Calguns Foundation with effective judicial action over draconian firearms regulations, as oppose to that one institute for legislative action who was very much on the Brady's side when it came to the landmark case that is known as Heller v. DC?

another "thank you" for the time spent and info in your opening post...

In regards to the portion I am responding to - maybe it's common knowledge to others, but I'm surprised no one else has asked... who are the allies that some find suspect?... if not names, can you shed some light to the statement? This is not a derogatory request, I'm sincerely interested.

Thanks again.

The Governor vetoed the last attempt at reinstating ammo control, for example.

To reiterate, we have a lot of work to do to narrow the California bills over the coming months. It's however early to exert the extreme pressure that we will have to exert later in the year in California.

Gene -

First, my sincere thanks to you for all of your time and effort defending our RKBA. Your post was well articulated and much appreciated.

In regards to Universal Background Checks (UBC), which may be the only item able to pass thru Congress, this could be hijacked and utilized to prohibit any type of federal/state firearms registration or database (in conjunction with UBC) providing us with a net win. There have been a few plausable ideas posted here with technical solutions on how this could happen. So if UBC passage becomes inevitable, we agree to support (for the children) but only with the appropriate amendment prohibiting registration/databases/collection of various UBC data, etc.

Thank you for the meaningful update. This week has seen Obama go off
the tracks and start his "immigration reform" bs because he knows the gun
stuff is losing steam as more and more time goes by.Even the liberal media has to talk about something
else. Pete

Thanks to Gene and every American who stands up and fights in the name of all the great ideas this country was founded on.

On a semi-related note, I have heard a lot about how much Obama has simulated the economy by driving gun and ammo sales through the roof. While the irony is amusing I can't help though, to consider how many people brought more debt into their lives by buying guns they couldn't afford and how much they stand to lose should they try to sell those guns, once the legislative efforts to ban are officially dead and prices come down. It reminds me of the housing crisis in that way.

I read posts from idiot after idiot on this part of the board over the years, daring the antis to take away this gun right, take away that gun right, then that opens up for another lawsuit, yet year after year goes by and nothing is done to get anything back. When open carry was about to get banned, some idiots on here jumped for joy claiming that was a good thing as it opens up a loophole that the counties would then have to issue shall issue CCW's. What happened? Nothing. We're still not getting CCW. As each massacre happens, you all here are powerless to do anything about the gun control that ensues. I cannot think of a single thing that Calguns has reclaimed from gun control. Yea I may sound like a pessimist, and I do wish for the same things as you all here, but I'm getting sick and tired of the propaganda being promoted here. Too much false hope is being given when those who are accepting all the money know deep down that nothing can be done to stop the gun control measures that are about to come raining down. As much as I won't like it myself, I'll be back and giving all you the I Told You So, and will accept apologies then.

"Keep calm, and carry on" is good advice.

In any life situation.

I've seen overly optimistic wishful thinking, and hypothetical high drama and paranoia here.

In either case, the answer lies in the title of this thread.

Thanks, Gene. Now, if everyone would just take the advice, maybe we could see reasonable prices for things again.

Default How to know we are winning?

When the Whitehouse has to release a photo of the pResident shooting. They can read the polls. We're not done by a long shot, but this has got to make the Brady Bunch cringe folks.

I saw that photo this morning the news... they said he was skeet shooting... I'm not a skeet shooter, but it sure looks low to be a skeet shot

Sorry for OT, for some reason it stuck out to me.

This situation is still playing out at the normal and glacially slow pace of the court system. However, our opposition can no longer offer unloaded open carry as somehow legally fulfilling a right to bear arms outside the home. Gene himself offered the timeline for the conclusion of this process.
