Default Salinas / Monterey Ammo Find

Seems that there is an ammo find thread for most areas. Living in Gonzales but work in Salinas. Basically looking for ammo locally. Salinas, Monterey area. Like a lot of people just looking to head to the range without wiping out all I have. The other day I found some ammo at Dick's for $8.99 a box of 20 for 5.56 and .223. Not looking for outrageous ammo prices, just local descent plink finds.

People are boycotting dicks because of what they did to a bunch of ARF buyers.

I do not think I ever care to step into that place now. We gotta stick together.

I've not been in to the new Dicks since that happened either.....and I spent a lot of money in there just after they opened.

I agree, we need to vote, not just to remove anyone who tries to take away our 2A rights, but also with our wallets.

Specific to what the OP asked. Before the craze, the two Walmarts in Salinas seemed to always have stock. Now, they are almost always bare (though I havent been in about 3 weeks). Have you tried Markley's.

With regards to Dick's...I will never go there again. I went there the day after Thanksgiving to take advantage of their buy one get one 50% off ammo sale. The customer service was horrible. The line outside the store all went to the gun/ammo counter. Half the line was in the ammo line and the other half was in the gun line. THERE WAS ONLY 3 PEOPLE WORKING THE COUNTER.

For the first 40minutes, I moved like 5ft (ammo line). The next 25minutes, the ammo line did not move. WHY? because all three employees were working the gun line.

I decided to leave without any ammo ans swore to never go back. Then the story comes out about Dick's not fullfilling certain rifle sales. What kind of crap is that? That solidified my decision to never give any of my money to Dick's...because they are what their name says.

Dicks is awful, but I was desperate.

Just found some .223 American Eagle today Friday Feb 1st at both Salinas Walmart locations was about 10:15am. Their new 3 boxes per customer is stupid, but at least I found some. Got 120 rounds it was going @ $8.03 a box of 20. The Walmart by Costco had a few boxes of .22 LR and some boxes of 9mm. The Walmart in the Harden shopping center had .223 in stock and random 30-06 308 lots of 12 and 20 shotgun rounds.

Markleys shelves are pretty much empty. Some odd-ball rounds and some military calibers but their guns and ammo is pretty much about 1/4 of what it normally was.
