Default Let's see your Bubba'ed Mosin Nagent!

I know there are few out there!

Let's see some extreme Bubba Mosin Rifles!

Sadly, I don't have a Bubba'ed Mosin, but that is going to change.

This is my first m44. I love this one sooo much, but she could really couldn't hit theside of a barn at 50yd.

So I set out to do a little bit of glass bedding . . . then a little pillar bedding . . . followed by a little trigger smoothing (because she had a 12lb pull) now. 4 1/2lb . . . her stock was smashed at the muzzle with a nasty, beat up crown . . . now a 17" barrel . . . I was thinking, after she was able to shoot a 1 1/2" group I would get a scope for her, so I bent her bolt handle down. I'm not a very tall person so I shortened the stock a couple of inches and recontoured a bit to fit my palm. I have plans to mod the trigger to shorten pull, too . . .

I know this isn't going to meet the approval of purists, but I really love her for shooting . . . I love my other Mosins as they shoot well and are very pretty and have historical value . . . but I love working on this one . . . I love to take her to the range . . . I love to hold her while I watch tv . . . some of you know what I mean . . .

Just working on my sporter/scout M44... yeah, it was a rustbucket when I bought it, so why not? And, yes, the trigger cost more than the gun.

Almost done with an m44. It was a rescue situation. The action barrel sights and bayo were pretty mint, but some tard took some steel straps, screws, two rolls of electrical tape and some three pieces of assorted stock wood.... well you get the picture.... I had to be revived. An nice original stock couldn't be found so its been dropped into an ATI. Post pics when I have afinished piece.

I don't think a Mosin "bubba" can be a "bubba" without being in an ATI stock...

You know how many people I see at the range with a mosin in a ATI monte carlo stock? Just ask them about their precision rifle! They'll be happy to brag.

I don't have this anymore, but it was a beat rusty heap when I got it for $50.
Cut it down to 22" sandblasted it refinished it, and added open sights from a Rem 700.
Turned into a pretty nice shooter.

Just got this one back from the gunsmith yetserday. Barrel is now 16.25" with threading for the PWS FSC 30. Darrel's M38/M44 scope mount, Leupold VX II Scout, Huber Concepts trigger, Boyd's Ross FT Stock. Just a couple things left to add and it will be done.

Might be two original parts that match.

The PU scope came off of one of these.

There's nothing wrong with the ATI stock, I like mine, it's more comfortable than the original and looks a thousand times better IMO.

Bubba1 with AK74 muzzle brake, 3 pound trigger, and home made stock.

Bubba2 with AK74 brake, ATI stock, 3 pound trigger, and bipod.

This one on the left is going to be Bubba 3, but right now it doesn't have a barrel attached to it:

All my bubbas are completely reversible and the first one is a matching numbers gun, but the others aren't.

I have one I won at Sacramento's
shutzenfest put on by surplusrifle a few years back. Not my cup of tea but it was done well. I don't have pictures of it and the rifle isn't with me but I'll get around to posting some sooner or later. They had an article on building it but surplusrifle's main site is down and now only the forum exists.

1944 Izzy no numbers matching. ATI stock free floated, 22" barrel sanded to remove chatter marks, shooters ridge bipod, tri-rail (most stable IMHO, not best looking), 2-7x LER scope, and painted with matte black ceramic flameproof paint.

Hide your eyes.......This almost hurts to look at.......But who ever was the torturer of this rifle did do a pretty good job. It was probably a gunsmith class project rifle. The brown and white butt stock length adjusters are really hideous.

Do you own that rifle SVT? I've seen more than one of the "Deer head" M/Ns out there, nobody seems to know where they came from.

Not that I have one, but do Sako M39's count?

I'm thinking of selling my mosin to my friend; need to make room in the cabinet for a pof .308.

I did. however I sold it a few months ago. The general consensuses is the "deer head" Mosin's are gunsmith school rifles where students were given an assignment to refinish, customize and engrave as a project.

Default Disaster

Barracks find M44 that I tried to play gunsmith with, it looks kinda sorta kool but is horrible to shoot. One round on paper then other somewhere else, difficult to load too. Might as well have lit 200 bucks on fire. No more bubba'ing for me

Wanted a deer rifle that I could tinker with, came up with this:
