That should be the adjustment dials so that the red dot is centered.

Just finished up my first AR15.
FNH 16" 1:7 Chrome lined barrel
TDS Guns Muzzle Break
Troy Industries handguard and low profile gas block
Magpul ACS-L, MIIAD grip, VFG, and front/rear MBUS
RRA LPK
Young Hard chrome skeletonized BCG
Dez Arms upper
80% lower
Now, I just need ammo. The only parts I bought online were the barrel, LPK, and lower. Everything else was at TDS Guns and those guys are awesome!!!

Pistols below, SIG P229 Enhanced .40 and a Rock Island Armory 1911 GI.

Default essbeeAAAAAAARRRRRGG!

if only I could take a bit more off the front...........
Stag upper match barrel with a Noveske kx3,pinned and welded @ 16.1"
AFMlower with Rock river national match trigger
seekins 13" BAR free floater
aimpoint comp m3 2moa dot w/ larue qd
Magpul-moe grip, afg, mbus, blocked and pinned Pmag, and a ctr stock with LaRue RISR
Cerakoted in Magpul FDE and graphite black in my garage

Just foolin' around with some receiver parts I didn't care too much for. I wanted to try for an SBR "look", since I can't have a real one.
I cut and crowned the barrel with my friends tools and had a local machinist thread it. I blind pinned it and gave all the metal parts a cerakote suit.
She actually handles o.k. despite the big pig on front and the heavy barrel(still shoots good too)
That wasn't the point of this build anyways. I have nice handling AR's. I just wanted to make something enjoyable and amusing out of parts that I didn't care for at all before.
It was a lot of fun building, and IMO, was well worth it.

New Frontier Polymer Lower
DPMS Upper
Magpul Hand Guard and Grips
UTG Red Dot

This was my first AR build so I kept it simple. I was skeptical about the polymer lower at first but there are over 1000 rounds through the rifle with no problems. Tight groups at 100 yards. Great for a range gun or an afternoon shooting with friends.

Yes they're legal on a RAW/ BB'ed rifle. Featureless rifles can not have the VFG, and the AFG on a featureless build is still undecided-but advised against.

Registered Assault Weapon, or a rifle with a Bullet Button.

Just got this together today... using a YHM stripped lower, BB, 5-20 round mag, RRA LPK with Hogue grip, and the upper/stock/buffer/assembly from my late Dad's old Colt HBAR 20", I now have a CA compliant AR!

Thanks. I like it a lot, and am glad to finally get it put together. I just changed the pics; now has a 5-20 mag in it. The 10 round mag was hanging up the bolt on occasion. Bought the mag on Ebay, and the lip and mag catch slot don't match up quite right to the factory mags, so am sending it back.

Well, the new 10 round mag wasn't the problem. It was a sloppy fit between the upper and lower.

I hadn't yet glued in the offset bushing to adapt the new YHM lower to the old Colt HBAR upper, which has a larger front pivot hole. I did that today with the bushing rotated to provide the best fit, then took apart and cleaned the bolt assembly as well, and now the upper and lower fit nice and tight like one unit, and the new 10 round mag is fine... no hang ups
