Well, I've been sitting on a few lowers for awhile now.
I had this delaware machinery "blank" lower(bare minimum markings) from Rguns for awhile. ![]() I've got a couple builds going and intended for this to be paired with a redxarms upper as a budget rifle I could let friends use. Well, the stars aligned today as a I went to turners for a rifle pickup. While I was there I spotted a DPMS A4 .22lr complete upper. They had put it out with two people in line before me passing on it because it was a .22. Well, the price was right, I had a built lower ready to go for it, and its a name brand. Why not?! So i eagerly brought it home and mated them together. They came together and left no gaps or any play. ![]() Then a CTR stock i ordered for another build came via USPS. ![]() But I was missing one thing, a rear sight. Just as I finish up with the stock, my UPS lady hands me a pair of troy sights i ordered for another build. Welp, onto the .22 they go! ![]() I just so happened to build this lower with a raddlock instead of a bullet button too. I guess this build was destined for rimfire all along. Just out of curiosity if you have a lower marked as cal 223 and you put a standard magazine release on it, have you just built an AW? Even if you have a 22lr upper on it? My ar22 is a Riflegear lower but it is marked "multi Cal".

Congrats on the new toy!
Nice to not have to be in "panic buy mode" (I want a .233 ONLY, pleeeze) and can enjoy the .22! They are a blast to shoot even if ammo is getting tougher to find for now. @Paul053, way I understand it a dedicated upper is OK since its rimfire but a conversion bolt might be gray/iffy. Be sure to never install a centerfire upper w/o the BB in place! Mine still has a BB on it as a dedicated .22 b/c the lower started life as a .223 and I'm too lazy to reconfigure it. To be honest I have no idea. I assume it doesnt matter because the weapon has been "converted" to shoot rimfire.

Reseda. It was MSRP. Ive had loads of PMs about how I got this thing from turners.
IM FAIRLY CONFIDENT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYMORE. I THINK I JUST GOT LUCKY. THIS IS HOWEVER, A REGULARLY STOCKED PART. If interested, I can give you the part # from my receipt and you can see if turners can source you one from one of the stores, I doubt it though. |

The lower is just a lower. Since this is a dedicated 22, there is no issue. Anyone will see (upon inspection) that it is not a 5.56. Just look at the flowchart on the menu bar and you can print it out to have with you in your rifle bag - just in case you need to educate some people on it. It is all legal. I have a similar set up with a NFA lower and a Chiappa upper. A great, light weight, 22 option.

2-mags - complete upper ready to shoot - $350 shipped to your door I say nay! Still comes with super crappy plastic upper (the way I see it is add the price of the cheapest aluminium upper you can find to the original price $400 plus) there coating/finish on the bolt started falling off prior to the 2k rnd count the firing pin left a super bad dent on the bolt face that prevented proper ejection (had to file every couple hundred rnds ) if I had to do it all over again - I would have taken a different route |
