I found a LNIB Colt Delta Elite in California in early 2004 that costed me only $700. It's now a much better pistol...

I received on Wednesday its frame that has been with Terry Tussey since last October, getting the following done: Bobtail (using the Ed Brown 25lpi-checkered Bobtail MSH), 30lpi-checkered front strap, undercut the trigger guard, convert the safety back to single-sided using the Ed Brown Tactical part, and install slimline grip screw bushings. It turned out great, and I was especially pleased with how Terry undercut the trigger guard. I had a set of AlumaGrips waiting for it, slimline, Tactical Checkered, in black, with Delta medallions, and with a Bobtail cut.

The last thing I will have done to this pistol, before I declare it to be done, is to have Bar-Sto fit a new (ramped) barrel, and the wheels are already in motion for this. Included in that will be a new (fitted) bushing with chamfered edges.

For reference, here is what the pistol looked like when I first got it, in January of 2004, with the only modification being a full-length guide rod:

Also for reference, here is what the pistol looked like after John Jardine did an extensive rebuild and overhaul (Ed Brown memory groove beavertail grip safety, flat MSH, Novak's sights front and rear which involved cutting new dovertails, trigger job, new hammer, ambi safety, an oversized safety, and a refinish):

Since then, I ended up changing the safety as the oversized one was too big. I also sent its slide to Tooltech to have night sights (Trijicon tritium tubes) installed, with yellow rear dots and no white outlines.

Anyway, here is what the pistol looks like as of last night (the sixth photo shows well the profile of the trigger guard undercut):

Needless to say, I am very pleased with how this pistol has turned out.
