Ares Armor called me this morning to get info to charge for a 80% since BofA declined their business and cancelled over 400 orders they had pending..Lindy is awesome..shes the only woman there and she is awesome...alot of the staff are vets as well..

I also ordered from Ares. I ordered the 1911 and the .308 kit, that was mid December, I'm willing to wait no problem. My dad made the drive from riverside to their store in the San Diego , Oceanside area just to talk to them about his order. They were helpful, but their phone was ringing off the hook the entire time he was there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that ill get it. It'll probably take several more months before I get it but it'll be worth the wait. Yep, +1 for Ares.

The mill for the build parties is currently down, something about the spindle broke. Was in there yesterday, as for their 308's, they told me that the mold at the foundry was broke and they don't know when it will be fixed/ making 308 forgings

I ordered mine the same day. CC was charged on 12/31. My account says "waiting for stock." If orderes from late November are being shipped now, hopefully ours will be here in a couple of weeks. I'm not worried yet.

Just an FYI folks, and I'm sure Ares is a great company run by upstanding individuals, but do pay attention to their policies.
- They will charge your card immediately, and they do not offer refunds, even on something that's backordered 4 months. - The product pages do not say that their products are not in stock. You have to look at the "news and updates" page to see that. Oh, and I was told that paperweights ordered around the same time in December (20th or so) would be available around June. -1 for them. Ordered 2 chest rigs from them. One was back ordered, but no call or e-mail telling me that. The one e-mail I received from them said it had not shipped yet (2 weeks after purchase and charge) which I took to mean it was back ordered. One shipped and was returned with RMA, but charge was never credited. After 4 weeks of e-mails and calls, all unanswered, I disputed the charges through my bank. I don't think I should have to drive to Oceanside to get a credit on a return, or for them to let me know that an item showing in Stock is actually back ordered AFTER they charge my card. Eff them.

I wish they didnt charge my credit card before hand, I read their policies and that was not one of them at the time of order. I dont like paying for something that doesnt exist yet.

Ares is awesome, I got my AR lower and machined it about two weeks before all this madness started...I had a weird feeling when a friend told me that Feinstein was gonna introduce another ban. God bless Ares, F*** BofA

I'm pretty sure that "waiting for stock" is just back ordered worded differently. I purchased right before Christmas and they said that they were only getting a 1000 ar15 80% a month and at that time they were back ordered until May on just those, for them to get even some what caught up they would have to be the only distributor for TM frames in the western U.S. which was not going to happen cause other businesses that order from TM would be told to piss off and it could cause a monopoly almost. With the 1911 frames they have had to do mods to the frames i believe and the first Cal Guns group buy still has not received all of theirs yet and then there is the second group buy of 160 frames that hasn't even begun shipping. The first group buy has been waiting since i believe early fall for their 1911 frames and that was before all the school stuff happened. With all that being said,1. Don't hold your breathe waiting on parts, its going to be a while. 2. Their refund policy sucks and i don't like that fact that they sell products that they cannot even secure buying, but you are kind of limited as to other avenues for the same type of product, so its kind of a gamble but if you have patience then they are not a bad outfit, just kind of in their infancy of their business plan.

I ordered 8 lowers on 12-19-12 and I just got them Tuesday. hopefully you all will get your stuff soon.
P.S. B of A has been a ****ty place to work with for a long time. Stopped using them over 20 years ago, and never will again.

12/19/12 as mentioned above. my order also included a jig.
This is what pisses me off. NO mention of stock at time of order, taking thousands of backorders without securing product. charging credit cards at time of order, no cancellation policy. no mention of shipping delays. no updates period. now some of these have been implemented currently. 3 weeks ago, it was not. phone rant over, insert grammer nazis. |

Ordered a 3 80% from them 1/18. Charged same day.. received an email same day saying "pending processing"...I should have read post here and their Site before ordering. . But I am not in that much of a hurry as I don't have the funds to complete them just yet. ..I just don't wanna wait 4-6 months though

Showed up today out of the blue. Almost 2 months to the day from order.
No call, no email, no tracking number, no shipping notification or anything. Just glad it showed up. |

For those that cannot reach Ares by phone, try emailing Mike. He has been getting back to me within 24 hours on bad days and within a couple of hours on good days. I ordered mine on 12-19-12, but was told Tuesday that it would be mid February when they come in. I will keep you guys posted. Mike's email is mike@aresarmor.com .
Good luck everyone. That sucks to hear that Ares machines are down. They are pretty efficient at getting everyone through the process. Hmmm, if you need to go elsewhere for machining the 80% blanks, just let me know. I will coordinate appointments for the shop I'm working with down here. He's right off of Miramar Rd. For all that he has done for me, I'd love to get a bunch of folks in to finish their lowers. It only takes about 20 minutes per unit. PM me if you are interested. Charlie C4 |

here is a reply i got regarding my dec 19 order.
Torn, * Your order will be going out this month. We are shipping orders in which they were received, and are currently fulfilling orders from December 17th. In all honesty, it should be just a few more days before your lowers go out. When I walked in last week (Wednesday, I think), they said if you ordered pre- December 18, you can pick-up today, otherwise, mid-April (I ordered in mid-Jan).
I'm sure that they'll keep updating things as production ramps up. |
