Thank you very much.
I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at the demeanor of most people on this forum. I appreciate not being treated like a moron just because I am ignorant of most things guns.

If SB 47 gets through (god forbid) then the only option left is to go featureless.

Proof that Yee has his head up his rump thinking SB 47 will do any good if it's anything like SB 249: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhC8LpHPbRQ

Aren't you glad your hard earned taxpayer dollars are being spent to pay these dregs to society?

I don't want them banned or any other restrictions however, it is a very real possibility. (Especially in CA)

Along with Monsterman Grips, U-15 or A2 stocks, all of the muzzle brake manufacturers, etc.

Keep an eye on the news and invest in the market stocks when you can!

With the super-majority in both chambers in Sacramento, the democrats can just pass any gun laws they want and you're **cked. Any gun bans is bad news regardless at the national or state level, so we need to fight back.

As long as there is a super-majority in both chambers in Sacramento, you are never out of the woods.

I wouldn't be laughing if I were you as long as you're living in this state.
Agreed. And anything they pass is just a step toward the eventual goal of removing firearms from the hands of civilians. Feinstein has said as much.

Now is not the time to sit back and relax.

It's time for civil disobedience. http://xroads.virginia.edu/~hyper/WA...ays/civil.html

If we all stand together and refuse to give up our guns and refuse to compromise on the issue, all they can do is put us in jail. They can't put us all in jail, we're the only one paying for the Obama supporters to live off these effing food stamps that these hood rats try to sell me every day at the grocery store.

It's time to stand up and take America back, and if that means a new American revolution then so be it. I say save my freedoms at all costs.

Yes probably if not worse. I'm already putting a plan together to be out of CA by 1/1/2014. I will not give up my pistol grip or full guns because someone has a power boner. And I can't stand the attitude of CA anymore. It's either hippie or poor me, give me money that I am entitled to. At least that's the attitude of a lot Sacramento residents or should I say parasites.

Comprehension isn't your strong suit, is it?

Obama can ban NOTHING through EO's. Even he knows that, which is why his 23 point plan is toothless.

Sure, he called for congress to pass an AWB, but there is NO WAY that they have the votes for this in the House and likely not the Senate.

Obama knows this, Harry Reid knows this, as does Boehner. It's been publicized over the last week and even the NRA is confident enough to publicly state an AWB isn't going to happen.

Apparently, you're the only one who didn't get the memo.

OP is correct and the knuckleheads paying $4000 for a run of the mill AR on Gunbroker will feel like idiots as time passes and they are still available for little less than pre-panic prices.

he didn't ban anything... he can't ban anything... what were you guys listening to? This is the kind of response that get wrong information passed around.

We all know he wants to ban AW (but we knew that before this morning)... this morning hasn't changed anything.

I'm not sticking up for OP... but you guys are implying things that didn't happen.

There could be an upside to this. If congress does not pass the AWB / magazine ban, that might help get California's laws overturned as un-constitutional.

Strategy of Obama will be to blame Republicans for there not being a ban and try to lay blame for all future atrocities at their feet.

I'm fine with that.

OP, the dynamic has changed. The days of DC passing gun bans in the cover of night are over, thanks to the Internet.

Yet....the other side of the coin is that gun rights has now become a state-level issue. On one side we have Wyoming, which has all but given the finger to DC's gun control statutes. On the other side we have New York State, which just passed the worst gun control laws since the Jim Crow era. There's no way DC can pass legislation to please both sides, and the White House cant afford to offend either party by taking sides.

So, the 2nd Amendment is now a state-by-state right. Much like slavery was a cultural institution of the South, gun control is a divided cultural issue. Gun owners in America today are like the black men in northern states in the 1800s, while weapon owners in California are like the slaves stuck on the plantations in Mississippi . Its a crude analogy but it fits the current zeitgeist too well. Much as my ancestors felt that moving north was a better alternative to life under the whip, some gun owners in CA and NY face a trip on their own "underground railroad" to a Constitutional state.

Of course, CA has been enslaved to some of the worst laws in the nation. And it's about the get worse.

When anti-gun states crack down on gun laws, California follows.

Mark my words, they will put us on 7 round mag cap, and ban all AWs.

GOP says no AW ban and since they're the only ones who can make it happen by voting on it in congress I'm still certain it won't happen. Now a ban on 11+ round mags I can't be as certain about and will likely happen as a compromise.

Very soon? How about now:
SB 47 Yee Assault Weapon Ban

Yee's Website

"(b) For purposes of this section, “fixed magazine” means an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action."

My big concern is that the 2000 ban prohibited the transfer or sale of a RAW. So I'm considering transferring my BB guns to my kids now and possibly pulling my RAW's and making them BB guns and transferring them also.
