Default 4th living MOH recipient from GWOT

If anyone isn't tracking, here is the story. Some intense videos can be found, including film from the talibans side. These guys at COP Keating did a hell of a job. Completely out numbered and out gunned.

The threat of an outpost being overrun is always real. Obviously there are the daily harassing attacks, but overruns are more common than most the public realizes. As my unit was transient on it's way into country, 173rd Airborne was overrun at Wanat. We were en route to relieve them and were one week late. During my year there, just over the border in neighboring Nuristan, an ANA outpost with a few Americans was over run. We QRF'd out there and helped recover the surviving kid napped ANA. I left in July 2009, the MOH story is from Oct 2009. RC east.... that place is wild.

Nine soldiers were killed, not eight like the article claims. I heard he was put it for it a while back. I'm glad he's getting the recognition he deserves.

Glad for his recognition.

I'm extremely pissed that CPT Will Swenson has not been recognized for his actions with next to Sgt. Dakota Meyers (MoH recipient, USMC). Doing so, the Army will be forced to recognized the epic failures that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of several Soldiers that day. They lost his MoH packet 3 times.

Meyers has been quoted several times saying he wouldn't even be alive today if it wasn't for Swenson. I'm afraid his "negative" comments about the REMFs who denied them CAS will keep any recognition he undeniably deserves from taking place which is complete bull****.
