Put a nice, fat, bold -OR- by slingshot and add Crosman 1322 or 1377.

Ammo consistency
Accuracy consistency
Ammo weight and ease of storage

Parts to wear or break
Finite ammo (but usually it's 200 pellets per tin. Try carrying 200 rocks.)

Pros specifically for 1377/22 :
Pneumatic piston has virtually no recoil as opposed to a cocked spring pistol

I keep a stock 1377 in the trunk for random fun. I pack a custom 1322 from Mac1Airgun for deeper treks where the possible need to bag game may arise. Humans know what guns look like and to most people this would qualify as GTFOH. Slingshots are fun but IMO pellet guns are much more effective in a surivival or emergency situation.

Excess: I was watching Out of the Wild: Alaska Experiment on Netfl*x and they had a .410/22 combo. One shot bagged one ptarmigan but spooked dozens of other birds (read:dinner) away. Don't underestimate the value of pfft pfft over bang bang

Thanks to the OP for all your hard work on this. Got me thinking, with all the bad weather on the East Coast right now, I wonder how many of those people learned from Sandy and at least had some supplies with the reports telling them this bad storm was coming?
Need to go through all my gear this week to re-evaluate what I've got and what I still need. I just made my new BDB..BabyDiaperBag this week with some added items I took from my regular stock and added to a small pouch on the I need to replenish those items. Told the wife..that pouch is not baby related so you shouldn't hopefully need anything out of there.. but just in's there. Flashlight, elec tape,multi-tool,etc...just a few basic items.
Thanks again to the OP!!
