The radio traffic in the YouTube video below is from one of the four fire fighters who was shot yesterday in Webster New York. One of those shot and killed was off duty police Lt Mike Chiapperini.
The City of Webster has a volunteer fire department and Lt Chiapperini served his community as a volunteer fire fighter when not working full time as a Webster police Lieutenant. He was serving in the fire fighter role when shot and killed. |

Hard to listen to, wish this country would lock up its bad guys. Suspect did 17 years for killing his grandmother with a hammer, why we release a truly evil person back to spread more misery is beyond me. Amazing how calm the FF was with his friends down and suffering two gsw himself. RIP

Listen to the traffic again... An off duty copper engaged immediately and units arrived super quick...One unit took multiple rounds. The firefighter on the radio even said he saw officers in the area, and wanted a status on them finding the shooter...not whether they were there.

This is a horrible thing to listen too, makes me mad to know that he was released from jail for murder. This is what makes it so hard for Fire Fighters you never know what your responding to. I know for us here they always send police first to secure the scene before they let fire fighters enter.
