My first Mosin. I bought it as something cheap and fun to work on. It is a run of the mill 1941, round receiver, it had rust spots, and a pitted and counter bored barrel, etc. It was no museum piece, so please don't cry about the sporterizing. I'm actually pretty pleased with the hack saw/brass screw barrel chop and recrowning.

Hey guys I just joined the club yesterday. Purchased from a fellow Calgunner. Got my hands on a 1929 Tula ex-dragoon, with prewar stock. Good rifling and smooth bolt. I can't wait to shoot her! Sorry for the cellphone pic, I'll have some better ones up later tonight.

Here is mine. I got it a couple of months ago. I am polishing and refinishing it right now so pics l are in Chronological order...

At the range yesterday.

Disassembly.

Sanded.

Stained (red mohogany).

First finish coat.

Polish, polish, polish.

I removed the front sight permeanantly.

I've been had a little trouble with the finish I was using and old wood so it's taking a couple of extra days to fix it but it should be done soon.

[QUOTE=Z ME FLY;2782268]Here are some pictures of my mosins! My M44 with a bent bolt handle, sling, recoil pad, scout mount with scope.

If you have a scout mount/pistol scope set up, why did you put a bent bolt on there?

Just picked up a Russian 1948 M44. Original Russian sling is being shipped. Can't wait to unleash the fireball!

Default A study in barrel length

A recent range trip presented me with an opportunity to look at some different barrel lengths.

The top is a 1942 Finnish B barrel m91.
The second is a 1936 Ishevsk Spanish Civil War 91/30 with a blade front sight.
The third is a UK59 heavy barrel build on a bare 1945 Ishevsk m44 receiver.
The bottom is a carbine built from a gun show bought, cut down 1922 Tula m91 barreled receiver.

It's a pic thread.

My sporterized Mosin. Done myself, in my garage. Great LR shooter, I love her.
Monte Carlo stock, Rock Solid bent bolt, ATI scope mount(used tad bigger drill and tap + stainless screws because ATI's set was garbage), CNC Warrior AK74 Style muzzle brake kit(came with T-handle Threader & Die) + cut barrel down to 23" get a lil better balance, Simmons 4-9x50 Scope, Champion Bi-pod, Allen ammo sleeve. Lots of fun doing and shooting!

Well i guess im part of the club as well. Picked up my first Mosin yesterday from a fellow calgunner! Great looking rifle. From my minimal knowledge and research it seem its a 1926 Izhevsk Hex with a post-war laminated stock which the shellac is peeling in some places. Crown looks good, all matching numbers and its not counterbored. Heres some pics. If I have any of my info wrong please let me know.
