Default How long can a firearm stay in jail?

So I plan doing a PPT sometime this week locally but I will be leaving Cali to Virginia for work on January 7th so I would only be able to pick up the firearm at the FFL after January 24th.

So how long can a firearm sit in an FFL's gun safe until any storage fee's or other things apply?

Would I still be ok to pick up after January 24th without any hassles or surprises from the FFL?

Another option is that the DROS worksheet can be filled out and then later submitted to delay the 20 day period for pickup (between 10 and 30 days). The FFL would need to agree and you might need to remind the FFL to submit it.
