If by now you mean 20 years ago then yes. They've been saying stuff like this for a long time. I have no way of knowing if it's true or not, but I use all BPA free bottles just in case. They don't cost much more and are dang near indestructible. If you want to play it ultrasafe I guess you could go for all stainless steel water bottles..

This is news? BPA and its derivatives have long been known to mimic various hormones in the body....

Don't reuse the beer aluminum bottles or make Beer Can Pot. They all have damn plastic liners.

PET 7 has BPA. dont reuse - this is old news.

there is no proof that reusing PET 1 bottles a few times is harmfull. maybe if you used it for 10 years the plastic may start to break down and leach into the water.

Also, do not leave water bottles in hot cars or put them in the freezer.

All my Nalgene bottles were older models and had BPA in them, so I tried Camelbak bottles, they sucked. I have since switched to stainless steel. No PBA's, no liners and in an emergency, I can boil water in them.
