Hold out for the Hornady 55gr bulk FMJBT, much better quality bullet than the Armscor crap. Only a couple bux more in 1k lot. Midway says stock will be available on Jan 4.

BTW, the Armscor bullets are showing out of stock on the 55gr and mixed availability on the 62gr (no 1k lots available till Jan 21).

I ordered 4K 55g FMJBT Hornadys from brassmanbrass.com a couple of weeks ago but they shipped only 2000 bullets. By the time I called them up about it they were out of Hornadys so I agreed to let them fill the order with Armscor. I mentioned this to a friend and now I'm sorry I did.

He bought a couple hundred Armscors to try a while back and found way too much variance in weight, length and shape for them to useful in anything other than very casual plinking. I can't shoot at 6" gongs at Chabot (no zombie targets either) so now I'll be spending the new year sorting 2000 bullets to see if I can coax any kind of accuracy out of them. If sorting fails, I can probably sell them to a guy who needs ammo for reaction drills. haha.

Rule of thumb is that Armscor components are just a step above total crap, cheaper than other stuff for a reason. There is much truth in the old saw about getting what you pay for

I backordered the hornady. I figured it beats waiting for it to be in stock and jumping on it. Plus, with 10 mil guns sold this month, it could be a long wait! A bird in the hand...
