The Stockton Area C3 (Calguns Community Coordinator) is ShooterDK. PM him and he'll help you get going with shoots, etc. He can also ask for a sub-chapter for (?) Stockton.

Lazyme and ElDub1950 and I are the C3's for Sacramento and could give you some pointers, but ShooterDK is your go-to guy.

We shoot pretty often at Sac Valley shooting center, which is reasonably handy for you all too.

Glad to see local people here.

@Bonnie, thanks for the info. Like your slogan!

@Kook, just got into building ar's myself. Make sure that hammer spring is in right, and that you do not forget the disconnect spring, lol made for an interesting day at the range. My parents live in Valley Springs.

Where does everyone shoot? I have been using the linden range, Good people there. I'm looking for local blm land now that everything is sighted in. We go up to panoche hills, it's a bit of a journey but worth the trip to have a little freedom.

Be careful on BLM land brother. I just recently almost had my AK confiscated by BLM Rangers, and it is perfectly legal and not on any banned list.

I think I am going to the ranges where you pay, as I believe the LEO checks will be fewer, which means less risk of running into one that enforces the laws without first being familiar with the laws.

I live in Redding CA, so a bit further north of you.

Used to shoot out there but, according to my brother they have tighten up on youth shooting, no rapid fire etc.

I've been out to Sac Valley range, its a bit of a haul but nice facility.

It's not that far at all for us Modesto folks. I have shot there several times over the last couple years. Funny thing, there has been the same laid back Asian guy on the 50 yard rifle range everytime I have been there. Shoots nothing but rimfire (mostly .22 magnums), seems like a really cool guy.

I am from the Sonora area but I'm familiar with the area. Did a lot of riding in the area and a little climbing.

Guys, if you look in the Sacramento Chapter thread you can see what we're doing with shoots and planning.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...play.php?f=289

If you want to do a Monthly Shoot at Linden or just a one time get together, someone just decide on a place and time and announce it here. Then everyone who can, just goes there.

It sounds like you have a good core group forming up. We'd be glad to help you have your own forum, but at least one of you has to step up to being a C3, a Calguns Community Coordinator, in order to get the chapter forum created.

We're doing a Sacramento Monthly Shoot at Sacramento Valley Shooting Center on Dec 8, 10 am to whenever. I'll be there and also Lazyme, the other Sac C3. We can help you get started if you like.

If you need further ideas, PM me and I'll try to help. We'd really like to see the Stockton group get going.

Does anybody shoot on Monday's or Tuesday's? I can usually head out to Manteca or San Joaquin after I drop off my kids at school.

I usually go to the gun room in Elk Grove a couple times a month. Later in December I'm headed to a nice spot in the woods if anyone wants to tag along.

Sounds like there's enough of us to organize a local group shoot, and maybe even organize our own community chapter!

Maybe we should all list dates that we can meet up on to get the ball rolling on this.

Here's my list for this month:
Dec. 8th
Dec. 9th
Dec. 15th
Dec. 16th
Dec. 22nd

I'm going to the hills on the 28th and I don't have enough ammo for anything else this month.

Pm Sent about Ponoche Hills TooTacLou..

Anyone here familiar with the Marlin 795? I got one that jams all the time. I bought it for my son and I feel bad for giving him a rifle that wont shoot an entire 10round mag without jamming. tried remington gold bullets CCI mini mag, Remington viper, nothing helps

Default Meeting for new range

Dirk from Chowchilla here. The Madera County Board of Supervisors is having a special meeting Monday Dec. 10 from 10 am to noon at 200 W. 4th Street in Madera. The purpose of the meeting is to decide if the proposed 40 acre gun range for the Chowchilla Sportsmen's Club should be approved. Any of you that live close enough and whose schedules allow are really needed at the meeting. We feel the more people we have in attendance who support the range the better our chances are.
Dirk
