Default Guns you regret buying

The "guns you regret selling" thread got me thinking.

What guns have you bought and after a single range trip were just completely upset with your purchase. I have a few that come to mind.

For me the biggest two that come to mind are the Kel Tec P11 and Kel Tec SU-16A

Because of my experiences with those two guns I will never buy another Kel Tec product either.

When I was naive about guns I allowed myself to buy a Century product. First and Last... Never again...

I have bad experience with Charter Arms Bulldog Pug, don't like it at all. When you shoot 44spl through it, it actually loosen up the screw that's holding the cylinder, also jam the ejector rod, even the screw on the cylinder release got loosen. The trigger sucks, both SA and DA is not acceptable. Finish is not good either, but didn't expect it to be good for the price.

Anything by Raven, Jennings, or Bryco. The definition of a "Saturday Night Special" that helped lead to the creation of the roster. Cheap and unsafe junk. Took lots of them off gangsters over the years.

Hi-Point .380. Bought it for s**ts and giggles as a plinker, and I sold it after the first range trip. It really wasn't a bad gun per se (considering the price), but it just really wasn't that fun to shoot. Something about shooting such a tiny round out of a bulky, top heavy gun just didn't work for me.

Holding that gun feel like holding a 2 lbs hammer, I used to had one too, I agree with you that it is not a bad gun function wise.

It's not that I REGRET my Ruger 556e, rather I didn't NEED to buy it, but I just HAD to listen to my friend who absolutely s**ts on DI guns; I don't mind having to clean a DI gun more often than a piston gun; to me, it feels better than jerking off...

XD-45, plenty of 45's that are better.
Overpriced Romanian AK, never again.

+1 I fully agree, with their Yugo M70 AB2 being the only exception.

Just curious what 45's you prefer over the XD. Most people tell me 1911's are their favorite 45.

This should never happen unless you just don't know as much as you think you do about guns.

Default Weaver Arms Nighthawk

From here:

I once bought a Weaver Arms Nighthawk 9mm Carbine in the mid to late 80's. I can't even remember if I ever fired it and I think I actually gave it away. Probably the cheapest/ugliest/plastic/uzi knockoff thing I ever owned that should fire live ammo.

Taurus Millenium

Kel Tec P11 of its time.

Worked 95% of the time. Others, a round would get hung up and not feed. Including FMJ of differing brands.

Took it to a good smith and even he couldn't get it to feed reliably.

Sold it to a guy explaining what was wrong with it. Didn't want somebody trusting their life to it.

---

Kimber Elite series, 4" or 4.25" barrel, full size grip. The first ones that came out after the initial launch. Was almost reliable, but in the end, about every 1000 rounds, wasn't.

SPAS-12. It's a heavy, unbalanced, impractical, and unfun gun to shoot. It looked good in the movies, but reality showed me its only asset was the looks.

Kel-tec PF-9. I bought it thinking that all the kinks had been worked out. They haven't.
It stove pipes, double feeds and likes to puke its magazine into the dirt.
It's for sale if you're interested.

Kimber Pro Aegis II 9mm. Lots of stovepipe and FTE every few rounds. For Kimber to have high praise, I was very dissapointed in the quality of that firearm. Glad to rid myself of it.

I'm going to second the Kel Tec SU16 as I sold it a week after I bought it!

-Didn't like the stock the way it shouldered.
-The trigger was cheap plastic
-The bipod was flimsy
-Mags didn't drop freely for me
-The bolt was springy and spongy at the same time
-It just wasn't fun gun and didn't handle well

I regret buying my Mini 14. That's because it's so fun I can't wait to get back out to the range with it!

Of the guns I currently own, I don't really regret any of them. The ones I did regret I have since either sold or traded.

Ruger Redhawk .44. I bought it a long time ago and swear that the barrel vears left. Sent it back to Ruger and they sent it back to me stating that there is nothing wrong with it at all. The rear sight is way over to the right to make it shoot straight. I would sell it, but would never sell a poorly built gun to someone else. I just wish Ruger would have made it right.

I have a SU-16. I only regret paying so much for a plastic gun. That said how many rifles are there that are only 6 pounds and fold up in a backpack.

Well.... up until THIS past week, I had always regretted paying $1600 for a gray HK USC back in 2007 when other OLL/OLR items besides ARs and AKs started to become available. None of us were sure how much longer it would last due to rumored threats from the DOJ and a blizzard of FUD to sift through.

The gun is great, no regrets: and $1,600 to get one in CA was the going rate at that time in 2007.

But I did regret the price a few years later, when the black version became available (everywhere) the FUD was over, and even Turners was selling them at $1249. It was one of the few times I overpaid for something for fear of possibly never having the chance to get it again.

Yet, in a couple more weeks, I'll probably be able to get $2,000 for it if I wanted to sell it!!

.

GSG-5

Something new breaks virtually every outing, needs to be detail stripped to be cleaned every couple hundred rounds or it jams, and in general is a POS lemon. All looks no substance.

Why so much hate for the cheese eating surrender monkeys? They helped us during the revolution, and we've been bailing them out of trouble ever since

Only gun I regret buying is the only gun I have ever sold, a Sig Mosquito.

Yeah they have rifles, never fired only dropped twice.
I regret buying a FN 5.7. It is a great shooter, but too much plastic and way too expensive. I traded it for cash and a Ruger LC9. I was reading a novel and this hit man said the best hand gun for a killer is the fn 5.7 because it has a 20 rd magazine, low recoil and armour piercing speed.

I own 13 guns. So far, no regret. I think out and research every purchase and have been very happy with all of my purchases. Last gun bought was my $99.00 91/30, I love it, fun gun.
