Default FFL03: 2 months and counting

Should I be worried? I submitted my COE a week after sending in the FFL03 app, and I got that COE last week. Are the feds that backed up?

I applied for an 01 FFL.

I got my COE back approximately one month after I submitted it. I'm still waiting approval on the FFL itself (around two months waiting now), I did however get charged $200 on my credit card from the ATF a few days ago.

They sure are quick to process payment. I wrote the check for my 03 and mailed it on 6/8 and it was processed on 6/14

Got my 03 within the last month. Took 27 days total. I've lived at the same address for more than five years, and never had any legal issues. And I don't know if that makes any difference in processing time.

This thread is asking the same question -- looks like some take longer than others.

Will be 60 days on the 29th for my 01. They did however charge me the day the packet arrived. No calls, no letters....

Got the COE in 2 weeks. County approval. No worried, just anxious to get on with it.

I sent my 03 renewal in late April. Got it sent back to me in May, because I missed something on the form. The original application was easier to fill out for me than the renewal. Been waiting since. I have to order a few Mosin's tomorrow since my license expires on Monday.

They cashed my check on 5/16. I had checked the box that asked if I wanted an extension (or something like it) until I receive my new license. Still don't have any news.
This waiting sucks!

Oh my.

I just mailed my application last week. Got the USPS green card back and dated received 07-05-12. Still got a long wait to go.

Update: They already charged my $30.00 from my CC on 07-08-12.

FYI I just called. They show my app as having been received on 5/9, even though my credit card statement shows the funds as having been charged on 5/3. I was transferred to the person responsible for actually processing my app, but I had to leave a message for her.

Call #2: This time I was stonewalled by the operator guy who answers the phone, saying that my status is "pending" and there's no further information at this time. After pushing for more info, he transferred me back to the same number I've already left a message on saying "they will only tell you the same thing, Sir". I didn't leave a second message.

Default Several Months

I almost forgot I applied and low and behold there it was. I would say 4-5 months for my 03-FFL.
Now I am learning what I can do with it. The book they sent along is rather thick. I am looking through it.

I'm pleasantly surprised! The PIC of issuing the licenses just called me personally, and informed me my license was issued Monday, it printed Tuesday and should be being sent out today. Cool!

seems like the wait time varies wildly. I was ready to wait 2-3 months but I got it in about 3 weeks.

Haven't brought any C&R firearms yet but I've been using it as my 2nd POR and for discounts at Brownells and Midway. I'll probably pick up a Mosin if theres any black friday deals.

Credit card charged on September 28, received 03 FFL in mail yesterday. Wonder why such the wide variance in wait times?

Ok I have a rather convoluted question and I would appreciate some help with it. Say there are two people

One used to work at a business that had an FFL. That individual was not named on the FFL, but did have a Destructive Device permit in their own name. That person no longer works at that business, but does run a business out of their own home, and is licensed by the city to conduct business in that home. The DD permit has since lapsed. However said business does not (currently) require interaction with firearms. This individual also has a current COE for that address.

The second is a relation of the first, is over 21, and a valid HSC holder, but has no FFLs past or present. Both individuals have completely clean criminal records.

What would be the best process for getting an FFL license and renewing the DD permit for the first individual?

And would it be easier for the second individual to be named on the first's FFL or to pursue their own?

Furthermore, does having the COE and a past DD license make the process easier for the first person?

I apologize for the convoluted nature of the question, but the process is pretty confusing.
