I couldnt imagine buying a handgun online. You need to grip the gun, feel the trigger pull, shoot it if possible. If it is too compact the grip may be too short. I dont like compacts, my little finger hangs off the bottom. Glocks tend to have a wider grip. For me, purchasing the right firearm is vital to shooting accuracy.
I also believe in having a gunshop/owner/gunsmith that you can build a relationship with locally. Questions and problems come up and it is good to have a "paid" expert on hand.
