Actually, there's no need to remove the pin for the mag release. Just use a screwdriver to pop the spring up and slide the mag release out. Install the new mag release and hold the spring up with the screwdriver as you slide in the new mag release. Now slide the spring over with a screwdriver so that it locks in place.
