Well, we repowered a heavy 20' ocean fishing boat with a 150 hp yammy 4 stroke. We had traditionally run a 250 or 225 two smoke. The four stroke is a totally different motor. It is so torquey it doesn't bog down under a heavy load or chop. It is better in rough seas, never dropping rpm's when muscling through the slop like the old Johnson's did. If people are saying the smaller 4 gets it done I would believe them. Other than weight the 4 strokes are superior. Cleaner, quieter, more economical, more reliable. The only thing we lost was a little top end in flat calm conditions. However the 4 is a better driving motor 98% of the time.
