Personally, I'd keep your C-series HP stock as it is in great condition! Buy a newer model & modify it to your heart's content. As for the stock grips with the red backing, they too have collector value. See if you can wipe off the name/SS# with a mild solvent. I have a spare pair of rubber Pachmayr's for sale (haven't bumped the thread for a while).
