The Colt "Lightning" carbine/rifle series was a line of pump-action guns, with original production ranging
from mid-1880s thru early 1900s. Some other companies may have produced these too - though modern
1990s reproductions (Taurus) are likely not suitable for us due to mag design.
The Colt guns came in small-frame (.22 rimfire), medium-frame (pistol calibers like 44-40) and larger frame
(rifle/heavy caliber, like .50-95 Express) variants.
The mid-frame versions had tubular mags holding 12 - 16 rounds of pistol-caliber ammo - typically .32-20,
.38-40 or .44-40.
If you own a
Colt "Lightning" pump rifle/carbine (or a reproduction) and...
- you have "mid-frame" variant w/tube mag holding over 10 rds (typically 26" or 20" bbl)
- prefer post-1898 . . . but pre-'98 is still useful.
- gun is legitimately yours
- you're a nonprohibited, law-abiding person w/clean criminal history
- you're a CA resident
- if a "clone" model, must be pre-2000 to be regarded as lawfully possessed/transferred etc.

[It is unlikely 1990s "cowboy clones" of this gun by Taurus, etc. will suffice given shorter mag tubes.]

owner, it'd be appreciated.
