Unless it's a California Approved Safe/Cabinet (which I really don't think it is) or meets the specs Charliegone posted above, you'll still need a lock to pickup any new guns. If you're looking for cheap and just to meet the requirement set by the state, grab one of the Stack-On safes. If you want something nice, spend some extra cash and get a good one you'll never need to replace.
