The files are nice, but one comment is that while all you need is the number, it is actually a good idea to get a copy of the letter since there is no other way to know what was claimed to be shipped.

In one case I received two rifles, but the letter only showed one. In another case, the FFL used my CFD number for the number of long guns shipped. Needless to say, in both cases it needed to be corrected. If the CA DOJ allowed you to see what was claimed to be shipped to you, then it would be a different story. Right now I could use the system to claim I shipped firearms to you and you would never know it until you were inspected, then you would have to explain what happened, which you would not be able to do.
