It was made in 1881, with 16,547 made that year.
The rifle has been completely refinished and collector value destroyed. As a family heirloom, it's still priceless.
It would be a safe bet it's in shooting condition, judging by the effort somebody put into the refinish. The stock was originally an oil finish, side plates were blued, and the receiver was usually color case.
What caliber is it?
