Question on MOA bases
One of my setups requires nearly 90 MOA of elevation to run out to a distance I want to work with. I have a Leupold VXIII 6.520x50 LR target and several sources state this rifle had 94 MOA of internal adjustment. If I add a 40 MOA base and take half of the available internal adjustment it gets me real close to 90, 87 theoretically.
Assuming a perfect world the scope would have 47 MOA up and 47 MOA down from mechanical zero. With a 40 MOA base it potentially only leaves 7 MOA left to drive the POI far enough down to get a 100y zero. Is 7 enough to play with or am I on the ragged edge of not being able to get a 100y zero.
Thanks in advance.
