Assuming that you are right and it was a legitimate business reason that OP rooted and broke his boss's $700 communication tool, he should just take it to his boss and and inform him that he needs a new one. That’s what a responsible employee would do. A company needs to be appraised of the condition of their assets. /thread


That is of course assuming that he was not turning company property into a toy and was authorized to root it.

Of course if he was not authorized to root the company property and rooteded it anyway, whether he damaged it or not he really is not a "good tech person" if the company is in a contract, rooting the phone is in violation of that contract.

But you knew that.
