Basically shoot 1 to 2 mags of brass ammo from different companies and see what happens.

A firearm should allow you to load mags with every round being from a different manufacturer and brass plus steel case with no failure to feeds. A firearm that is designed and tested with only one specific type of ammo is a firearm that will have failure to feed issues.

The whole "steel cases are loaded lower power than brass cased ammo" is really incorrect but technically correct.

Lake City 193 is loaded at 3165 fps

Wolf Steel 193 is loaded at 3140 fps

So there is a 25 fps sec difference but that is not enough to make any type of real difference in gas pressure to cycle the BCG.

Double feeds are either extractor issues, magazine lips issues or both and also I would test the extractor and make sure it is not broken, defective, poorly designed or has a underpowered spring. Take the BCG with the bolt and remove the ejector plunger then slide a round into the proper position and shake the BCG and swing it in a fast circle motion. If the round falls out then it is a weak or defective extractor issue.
Those sound like good tips. I will try them. The upper is still new with less them 100 rounds through it.
