Are you in CA?
With my GSG-5PK the place that sells the PK's here in CA use red loctite, so that if you were to try to remove the stock flash hider, it would be a huge pain in the ***. The Sig measures about 26.5" with the stock folded over with the factory flash suppressor. If you're in CA and remove the flash suppressor, it will be under 26".
That's why it seems like it's welded on.
If you were dead set on removing it and it is just loctite keeping yours locked in place, you could probablly heat the loctite up really hot and maybe you could soften it up enough to remove it but you run the risk of screwing up the finish of either the suppressor, barral or more. Not to mention it would be under the CA law specs, unless maybe you were to then screw on a non functioning suppressor/silencer, so it stays over 26".
