Default BERETTA 1301 Shell Release Malfunction Fix...WORKS!! **

Searched, but didn't find any thread on the RECENT FIX for the dreaded shell release malfunction that locks up the Beretta 1301 semi-auto.

For those that have the 1301 and are hesitant to place HD-use faith in this shotgun...or those that are hesitant to buy....this long-awaited fix was recently produced through the work of a few diehard 1301 fans. Not Beretta

For those who don't know, the 1301 can get locked up if the shell release rocker switch is hit while the magazine is loaded and the carrier is NOT depressed (when the carrier IS depressed intentionally, this release allows the magazine shells to be off-loaded). If that switch is hit unintentionally, shells are released ONTO the carrier, which jams it up, taking the gun out of function until cleared.

Many people are put off by this possibility.

There are two companies that collaborated on the fix....one resulted in a polymer shroud ($15) and the other resulted in an aluminum shroud AND a new rocker switch ($60). I bought the polymer one and it works fine....NO MORE LOCKUP! The install needs a Torx #10 driver....to unscrew the switch screw and put it back on.....but takes all of 60 seconds IF you do it slowly, lol.

This shotgun is fast, has mild recoil, and rocks!

Here is Lucky Gunner's review and mention of both companys:
