If you are good with iron sights, what's the need for a red dot scope?
It won't make you any better, just possibly quicker target aquirements.
I've had several types and each one left me wondering when the batteries would go south. Also, in outside in greatly changing lights, it's sometimes hard to pick up, for me.

I ended up with cross hairs in mil dot patterns. Always there, no matter what kind of day.
Also handy to estimate ranges.
Can't do that with a red dot.

You will land on something that suits you, sooner or later.
