No. You have to take in to consideration velocity decay. If you are shooting a weapon traveling 3200 FPS from 100 yards, it is likely moving 2700ish once it travels the 100 yard mark.

I have shot high caliber weapons at our targets from much much closer then 100 yards, but by doing so, you can expect a quicker target fatigue. I always recommend 100 yards to maintain maximum target life.
